The Universal Mat is our most versatile grounding tool, designed to help you connect to the Earth’s energy no matter where you are. Whether you’re working at your desk or relaxing on the couch, this adaptable mat can be used just about anywhere. Built with high-quality, eco-friendly materials, it’s as safe and sustainable as it is effective.
Follow these instructions to properly set up your Universal Mat:
Step 1: Check Your Outlets
- Find an outlet in your home where you plan to use your Universal Mat.
- Plug the Outlet Checker directly into the 3-prong outlet.
- Look for 2 amber lights to illuminate. This confirms your outlet is properly grounded and ready for use.
- If you see any other light combination, your outlet is NOT properly grounded. In this case, you can use a Grounding Rod (sold separately) to establish a proper ground connection or test other outlets in your home.
Step 2: (Optional) Plug in the Safe-T Cube Adapter
- Plug the Safe-T Cube Adapter into the properly grounded outlet.
- The Safe-T Cube allows you to connect multiple Earthing products to one ground port at a time, but it is not necessary to use your Universal Mat.
Step 3: Set Up the Universal Mat
- Choose your location: Your Universal Mat can be used just about anywhere you work, sit or relax. Options include:
- On a chair or couch for seated grounding
- Under your feet while working at a desk
- On the kitchen floor while cooking or washing dishes
- Attach the Ground Therapy Cord: Snap the cord’s connector to the snap nub on the Universal Mat.
- Plug it in: Insert the prong end of the Ground Therapy Cord into one of these options:
- A Safe-T Cube Adaptor plugged into your grounded outlet
- The grounded port of your outlet
- Make skin contact: For best results, ensure bare skin touches the conductive surface of the mat. You can also use it with a very thin layer of fabric like cotton or bamboo, but direct skin contact is ideal for maximum grounding benefits.
- Important Note: Only the black, top side of the mat is conductive, so be sure that’s the side you’re in contact with.
Care Instructions: How to Wash and Care for Your Universal Mat
- Cleaning the Mat: Wipe down the mat using a non-corrosive cleaner. Do not use chlorine bleach, fabric softener, or any detergent containing bleach or softeners, as they can damage the mat’s conductivity.
- Avoid lotions and creams: Do not apply lotions, creams, or oils to the parts of your body that will be in contact with the mat, as these substances can oxidize and reduce conductivity over time.
- Air Dry: Let the mat air dry after cleaning. Do not use high heat or direct sunlight for extended periods as this may damage the materials.
